Taras Shevchenko

The All-Ukrainian Internet flash mob "We are the descendants of the Kobzar" has again invited participants to this year's sixth commemoration of Taras Shevchenko on the occasion of his 212th birthday and 165th anniversary. This year, more than 15 thousand participants took part in the flash mob. Conditions for participating in the flash mob: read poetry or prose written by Taras Shevchenko or about Taras Shevchenko; draw the Kobzar and illustrations for his works; stage the works; sing songs based on his poems; other types of art and creativity on this topic.

Our lyceum students also joined the action by creating presentations about Shevchenko as a poet, prose writer and artist in English.

Всеукраїнський Інтернет - флешмоб "Ми нащадки Кобзаря" знову запросив  учасників до  цьогорічного, шостого, вшанування пам'яті Тараса Шевченка з нагоди його 212 річниці  від дня народження та 165 роковин. Цього року  взяли участь у флешмобі понад 15 тисяч учасників. Умови участі у флешмобі: читаємо поезії чи прозу, написані Тарасом Шевченком чи про  Тараса Шевченка; малюємо Кобзаря та ілюстрації до його творів; інсценізація творів; співаємо пісні на його вірші; інші види мистецтва, творчості  на дану тему.

Наші ліцеїсти також долучились до дійства, створивши презентації  про Шевченка як поета, прозаїка та художника англійською мовою.

Lesia Ukrainka

The VI International Competition "Let's Fight for a New Life!" dedicated to Lesya Ukrainka is held as a creative competition for schoolchildren and student youth in the following nominations: "recitation", "staging", "work", "research work", "drawing", "audiovisual work", "vocal".

The idea of the Competition is to preserve and develop the treasures of the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people; to strengthen the sense of patriotism, national dignity and personal responsibility for the future of our Motherland.

Thousands of children and students from all over Ukraine, as well as representatives of foreign countries, united around the figure of the brilliant poetess.

Victoria Tymchuk, together with her mentor Iryna Mazur, conducted extensive research, writing the research work "Foreign Language Interpretations of Lesya Ukrainka's Works". We set out to trace the history and current state of translations of Lesya Ukrainka's works into foreign languages, to identify the main translation strategies, and to outline the reasons that prevent her work from fully entering the global literary mainstream.

VІ Міжнародний конкурс «Змагаймось за нове життя!», присвячений Лесі Українці проводиться як творче змагання учнівської та студентської молоді за номінаціями: «декламація», «інсценізація», «твір», «науково-пошукова робота», «малюнок», «аудіовізуальний твір», «вокал». 

Ідея Конкурсу – збереження та розвиток скарбів культурної спадщини українського народу; утвердження почуття патріотизму, національної гідності та особистої відповідальності за майбутнє нашої Батьківщини. 

Навколо постаті геніальної поетеси об'єдналися тисячі дітей та студентів з усієї України,  а також представники зарубіжжя.

Вікторія Тимчук разом з наставником Іриною Мазур провели велике дослідження, написавши науково-пошукову роботу «Іншомовні інтерпретації творчості Лесі Українки». Ми поставили за мету простежити історію та сучасний стан перекладів творів Лесі Українки іноземними мовами, з’ясувати основних перекладацьких стратегій та окреслити причин, що перешкоджають повноцінному входженню її доробку до світового літературного мейнстриму.

English language competition in UKD

On March 4, King Danylo University held an English language competition for students in grades 8–11 to receive grants for free education. The competition is initiated by the Father Ivan Lutskyi Foundation, which implements a grant program for the development and support of gifted students. The competition tasks included testing listening skills, as well as knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.

“This year we have a large number of participants, which indicates an increasing interest of young people in self-development and learning English. I am pleasantly surprised by the level of preparation of the students. "Many of them demonstrated solid knowledge and received high scores, which is the result of their hard work and professional support from teachers," noted Alina Dushkevych, a lecturer at the Department of Foreign Philology and Business Communications at the University.

Students from our lyceum, like every year, also joined the tests.

4 березня в Університеті Короля Данила відбувся конкурс з англійської мови для учнів 8–11 класів на отримання грантів на безкоштовне навчання. Конкурс ініціює Фонд отця Івана Луцького, який реалізовує грантову програму для розвитку та підтримки обдарованої учнівської молоді. Завдання конкурсу охоплювали перевірку навичок аудіювання, а також знань із граматики та лексики.

«Цього року маємо велику кількість учасників, що свідчить про щораз більший інтерес молоді до саморозвитку і вивчення англійської. Я приємно вражена рівнем підготовки учнів. Багато з них продемонстрували ґрунтовні знання та отримали високі бали, що є результатом їхньої наполегливої праці та професійної підтримки вчителів», – зазначила викладачка кафедри іноземної філології та бізнес-комунікацій УКД Аліна Душкевич.

Учні нашого ліцею, як і щороку,  також долучились до випробувань.

Valentine's Caption Contest

National Geographic Learning Publishing House in Ukraine and the company "Lingvist" invited teachers and students of grades 5-11 to participate in the Valentine's Caption Contest. The contest is dedicated to Valentine's Day and aims to develop students' creative thinking and encourage them to use the English language in a creative context.

Видавництво National Geographic Learning в Україні та компанія «Лінгвіст» запросила вчителів та учнів 5-11 класів взяти участь у конкурсі Valentine’s Caption Contest. Конкурс присвячений Дню закоханих та має на меті розвивати творче мислення учнів і заохочувати їх до використання англійської мови в креативному контексті.

Morning Dawns Award

The Ranok Publishing House invited Ukrainian educators to participate in the annual Morning Dawns Award with a prize fund of almost UAH 150,000, launched in 2024 to support teachers who, despite the war, continue to teach, study and work in difficult conditions. 

Each teacher could share their own experience and take part in 5 main nominations: “Star Teacher”, “Unbreakable Teacher”, “Innovative Teacher”, “Mentor Teacher”, “Effective Teacher”, as well as in 5 additional nominations: “Problem Solving”, “Creative Teacher”, “Teacher Support” and “Young Teacher”.

Видавництво «Ранок» запросило освітян України взяти участь у щорічній премії «Ранкові зорі» з призовим фондом майже 150 000 грн, започаткованій у 2024 році для підтримки педагогів, які попри війну продовжують навчати, навчатися й працювати у складних умовах.

Кожен педагог міг поділитися власним досвідом і взяти участь у 5 основних номінаціях: «Зірковий учитель», «Незламний учитель», «Інноваційний учитель», «Учитель-наставник», «Результативний учитель», а також у 5 додаткових номінаціях: «Problem Solving», «Креативний учитель», «Підтримка вчителя» та «Молодий учитель».
