10th grade students took part in the quote contest and Andriy Petrunko became one of the winners of the creative competition from MM Publications Ukraine for students of 10-11 grades was held from February 8 to 28, 2021. The participants were awarded with some gifts for praising their skills in English.
Every year Oxford
University Press organizes the competition to get creative in class and
motivate students to enjoy using their English. This year pupils had to work
in a group (2 to 4 students) and
- imagine
they can invite anyone they’d like to their
online video call, why they have chosen them, and what they’d like to ask them.
- make
a list of four people from past or present you’d like to invite.
- create
(e.g. draw/dress up as) your people and write one question you’d like to ask
them and what their answers might be
Project № 1 is made by Khrystyna Hrytsak, Anhelina
Yurashchuk, Sviatoslav Hasiuk, Maria Kovalchuk.
Project № 2 is made by Arina Zhurakovska, Serhii Koval, Oksana Stasiuk, Karina Senchak.
All the participants were presented with the Certificates.
The winning entry and runners-up will
announced by Friday 29th May 2021.

Students of the 10th form finished to learn the unit making short projects about nature. All the papers were remake into one presentation.

Students of the 8th forms also finished their unit making short projects about music and famous musicians.
За період реалізації проєкту було проведено 8 тренінгів для 50 вчителів англійської мови, які дали змогу познайомити учасників проєкту з основними поняттями інфомедійної грамотності, а також показали можливі шляхи інтеграції елементів інфомедійної грамотності в уроки англійської мови.
Команда проєкту
також уклала глосарій термінів інфомедійної грамотності «Glossary of Media Literacy»
та конструктор вправ «Media Literac Toolkit in the EFL Classroom»,
які рекомендовані до друку Вченою Радою Прикарпатського університету. До
останнього ввійшли розробки науковців кафедри і вчителів англійської мови,
учасників проєкту.
Зазначимо, що
проєкт «English for Media Literacy – Інфомедійна грамотність на заняттях
англійської мови» реалізували кафедра англійської філології та ГО «Центр
дослідження комунікації» за грантової підтримки Ради міжнародних досліджень та
обмінів IREX за сприяння Посольств США та Великої Британії у партнерстві з МОН
України та Академією Української преси.

Activities ON Integration OF Media Literacy in the EFL Classroom / Assignment 4

During the project implementation, 8 trainings were
conducted for 50 English teachers, which allowed to acquaint the project
participants with the basic concepts of infomedia literacy, as well as showed
possible ways to integrate elements of infomedia literacy into English lessons.
The project team also compiled a glossary of terms of media literacy
"Glossary of Media Literacy" and a designer of exercises "Media
Literac Toolkit in the EFL Classroom", which are recommended for publication
by the Academic Council of Prykarpattia University. The latter includes the
developments of scientists of the department and English teachers, project
participants.
Materials were developed within project “English for Media Literacy” (the project manager – Diana Sabadash) under the grant program of the “Learn to Discern in Schools” project, implemented by IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board) with the support of the British and U.S. Embassies, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Academy of Ukrainian Press and in cooperation with the English Philology Department of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the NGO “Centre for Communication Research”.

These tasks are targeted at secondary school and University students with
various English levels.
To make the summing up of the unit of the lessons it is possible to create some projects. Firstly, students can show their creativity and skills with doing such a work. Secondly, they have an ooportunity to find the materials they like on the Internet. Thirdly, children can get new information watching the work of their classmates. And, at least, it`s interesting for everybody.

Творчий конкурс від MM Publications Ukraine для учнів 10-11 класів проходив з 8 до 28 лютого 2021.
Умови конкурсу:
Для участі в конкурсі потрібно
відповісти на питання та розкрити зміст цитати відомих людей і написати
відповідь в розгорнутому вигляді. Організатори конкурсу оцінюють креативність
мислення учасників. Для участі в конкурсі слід заповнити анкету
Переможці конкурсу отримають набір
підручників "Pioneer" та сертифікат учасника.
The
creative competition from MM Publications Ukraine for students of 10-11 grades
was held from February 8 to 28, 2021. To participate in the contest students
had to to answer the questions and reveal the content of the quote of famous
people and write the answer in detail. The organizers of the competition
evaluated the creativity of the participants' thinking. To participate in the
competition they had to fill out a questionnaire.
The winners of the competition will receive a set of “Pioneer” textbooks and a participant's certificate.
