On any given school day, over 1 billion children around the world head to class. More children and adolescents today are enrolled in pre-primary, primary and secondary education than ever before.

All children have the right to go to school and learn, regardless of who they are, where they live or how much money their family has.

To learn how children around the world get their knowledge, the students of our school had the task to find the information and present it in projects. It was so interesting to listen to amazing facts of schooling in different countries!   

Students prepared both digital presentations and paper projects. 

Ukrainian New Year аnd Christmas Traditions

National Geographic Learning та компанія Лінгвіст запрошують усіх охочих взяти участь у конкурсі “Ukrainian New Year аnd Christmas Traditions”! 

 ЗАВДАННЯ (ОБЕРІТЬ ОДНЕ)

1) Презентація, яка розповідає про традиції святкування Нового Року та Різдва в Україні.

2) Вікторина про традиції святкування Нового Року та Різдва в Україні.

 Передбачається наявність тексту на слайдах / сторінках презентації. У разі вікторини, презентація має містити відповіді.

Зміст презентації: цікаві, небанальні запитання або факти, які дозволять іноземцям дізнатись більше про українську культуру.

Додай до презентації свої малюнки або фотографії. Переконайся, що матеріали відповідають Закону про авторське право.

National Geographic Learning and Linguist invited to take part in the contest "Ukrainian New Year and Christmas Traditions"! Our students of the 10^th form also took part in it.  

 Tasks

1) Presentation that tells about the traditions of celebrating the New Year and Christmas in Ukraine.

2) Quiz on the traditions of celebrating the New Year and Christmas in Ukraine.

There were texts with pictures on the slides of the presentation. In the case of a quiz, the presentation contained the answers. The content of the presentation was interesting with unusual questions or facts that will allow foreigners to learn more about Ukrainian culture.

English for Media Literacy

Протягом 9-26 грудня відбулося 4 тренінгові заняття в ході реалізації проєкту «English for Media Literacy» для вчителів англійської мови під керівництвом досвідчених тренерів, науковців кафедри англійської філології Прикарпатського національного університету імені Василя Стефаника.

Ми не лише дізнались як відрізняти факти та судження, а й набули навиків використання соціальних мереж для вивчення англійської мови за допомогою інтерактивних та ефективних онлайн інструментів.

Для учасників проєкту проведені конкурси з цінними призами!

Проєкт реалізують кафедра англійської філології Прикарпатського національного університету імені Василя Стефаника та ГО “Центр дослідження комунікації” в межах проєкту “Вивчай та розрізняй: інфо-медійна грамотність”, що виконується Радою міжнародних наукових досліджень та обмінів (IREX) за підтримки Посольств США та Великої Британії у партнерстві з Міністерством освіти і науки України та Академією Української преси.

During December 9-26, 4 training sessions were held within the implementation of the project "English for Media Literacy" for English teachers under the guidance of experienced trainers, scientists of the Department of English Philology of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. We not only learned how to distinguish between facts and judgments, but also gained skills in using social networks to learn English with interactive and effective online tools.

 Competitions with valuable prizes will be held for project participants!

 The project is implemented by the Department of English Philology of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the Center for Communication Studies within the project "Study and Distinguish: Info-Media Literacy", implemented by the Council for International Research and Exchanges (IREX) with the support of the US Embassy and the United Kingdom. in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Academy of the Ukrainian Press.

 All-Ukrainian online Olympiad in English "On the Lesson" is over. It was without common photos now(( but with certificates for our participants.

    Обговорення “Моє життя в інтернеті” - актуалізація досвіду дітей у використанні інтернету.

Вправа “Мої онлайн друзі” - діти знають, що «друзі-онлайн» - це все ще незнайомці та чому не варто довіряти тим, кого не знаєш у реальному житті та що таке приватна інформація і чому нею не варто ділитися.

Вправа «Тест білборду» - діти дізнаються про те, що спілкуючись в інтернеті ми не можемо бути впевнені, ким є наш співрозмовник і наша інформація перестає бути приватною, коли ми надсилаємо її комусь навіть в приватні повідомлення. За допомогою тесту «Білборд» діти вчаться розуміти, яку інформацію безпечно поширювати, а яку - ні.

Вправа «Щит захисту дитини» - діти дізнаються, куди і до кого можна звернутись, якщо вони потрапили в ризиковану ситуацію онлайн і хто може їх захистити.

Discussion "My life on the Internet" - actualization of children's experience in using the Internet.

Exercise "My online friends" - children know that "friends online" are still strangers and why you should not trust those you do not know in a real life, what private information is and why it should not be shared.

Exercise “Billboard Test” - children learn that when communicating on the Internet, we cannot be sure who our interlocutor is and our information ceases to be private when we send it to someone, even in private messages. With the Billboard test, children learn to understand which information is safe to disseminate and which is not.

Exercise “Child Protection Shield” - children learn where and who to turn to if they are in a risky situation online and who can protect them.
