The Teacher of the Year

On the second of December in our school it was held Round I of the nationwide contest "Teacher of the Year - 2016". During the competition teachers demonstrated their skills, creativity, ability to master computers. And all the students showed their knowledge, ability and skills, and the desire to learn something new.

So, six teachers from different schools of our district carried out English lessons in the 3B, 5A, 5B, 6A, 7A and 8С classes. All the participants, both teachers and students, accomplished with their tasks perfectly. Students understood their tasks and worked individually on their own, in groups. With the help of the presentations, pictures and various exercises every student deepened his knowledge about the professions, time, health and sports. There was a truly friendly atmosphere and mutual support in the class.

It was not very difficult for teachers to work with our pupils because they have good knowledge and they tried to fulfill everything given to them. It was not very difficult for pupils to work with new teachers because they were patient, creative and kind.

We congratulate the winner - the teacher of our school Rospopa Iryna Myroslavivna!

2 грудня на базі нашої школи проходив І тур всеукраїнського конкурсу «Учитель року – 2016». Під час конкурсу педагоги показали свою професійну майстерність, креативність, уміння володіти комп’ютерною технікою. А учні показали усі свої знання, уміння і навики, а також бажання пізнати чогось нового.

Отже, 6 вчителів з різних шкіл району проводили уроки англійської  мови у 3Б, 5А, 5Б, 6А, 7А і 8В класах. Усі учасники, і учителі, і учні, справились зі своїми завданнями на відмінно. Учні розуміли поставлені перед ними завдання, працювали індивідуально, самостійно, у групах.  З допомогою презентацій, картинок різноманітних  вправ усі поглибили свої знання про професії, час, здоров'я та спорт. На уроках панувала справді дружня атмосфера підтримки та взаємодопомоги. 

Це було не дуже важко для вчителів працювати з нашими учнями, тому що вони мають глибокі знання та намагалися виконати все, що було поставлене перед ними. Це було не дуже важко для учнів працювати з новими вчителями, тому що вони були терплячі, творчі і добрі.

Greenwіch

On November 25 the pupils of our school took part in the nationwide contest of experts of the English language "Greenwich - 2015". 55 students from the 3rd to the 8th grade were the participants there. Carrying out the tasks they were able to test their knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, and demonstrate a general knowledge of the country which language they study.

The responsible person for the event was our teacher of English Iryna Mazur who organized our students and teachers for this contest.

The competition significantly helps in increasing motivation for learning a foreign language and broadens horizons. Although the results will be known only in spring we hope that they will become a pleasant surprise for the students at the end of the school year.

25 листопада учні нашої школи приймали участь у Всеукраїнському конкурсі знавців англійської мови «Гринвіч - 2014». Учасниками були 55 учнів з 3-го по 8-й клас. Виконуючи завдання, вони мали змогу перевірити свої знання з лексики, граматики та продемонструвати загальні знання про країну, мову якої вивчають. 

Відповідальною за проведення заходу була вчитель англійської мови  Мазур Ірина Миронівна, яка організувала наших учнів та учителів до цього змагання.

Таке змагання значно допомагає у підвищенні мотивації до вивчення іноземної мови та розширює кругозір. І хоча результати будуть відомі лише навесні, сподіваємось, що вони стануть приємним сюрпризом для учнів наприкінці навчального року.

New Education

In Ivano-Frankivsk region there was held a creative competition "New Education" among the students of 10-11th forms.

Its aim is to identify talented local youth and give it a chance to quality higher education abroad. The competition is held under the auspices of the Department of Education and Science of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. The Foundation Grant Competition - UAH 200,000 - was provided by the company "OsvitaPol."

The participants had to pass two rounds. Round I took place in each school. Pupils fulfilled the tests on general erudition and wrote a short essay on  the topic "My Western neighbor Poland."

More than 500 students of Ivano-Frankivsk region took part in the "New Education" to draw grants to study in European universities.

20 high school students from our school also tried their hand in the competition. The  school organizer, our teacher of English Bohdana Kostyshyn, provided the participants with the tasks and helped them in the work.

В Івано-Франківській області відбувся творчий конкурс серед учнів 10-11 класів «Освіта Нова».

Його мета — виявити обдаровану місцеву молодь та дати їй шанс на якісну вищу освіту за кордоном. Конкурс проводиться під егідою Департаменту освіти і науки Івано-Франківської ОДА. Грантовий фонд конкурсу — 200,000 грн, надані компанією «ОсвітаПоль».

Учасники мали пройти 2 тури.  І тур проходив у кожній школі. Учані виконували тестові завдання на загальну ерудицію та писали коротке есе на тему «Мій західний сусід Польща».

Більше 500 учнів Івано-Франківська та області взяли участь у конкурсі “Освіта Нова” на розіграш грантів на навчання у європейських університетах. 

20 старшокласників нашої школи також спробували свої сили у конкурсі. Шкільний організатор конкурсу, наш вчитель англійської мови Богдана Костишин, забезпечила учасників завданнми і допомогла їм у роботі. 

Peace Corps

In November the representative of the Peace Corps had a visit to our school. Tamara Prydatko, Lead Specialist at the US Peace Corps/Ukraine, presented Peace Corps program priorities. She informed the teachers of English about the program, the people who would like to work at school as volunteers, the advantages of the project and problems that could appear. We discussed the job possibilities and terms of cooperation.

As Tamara noted, Peace Corps develops its activity in Ukraine in three areas: teaching English as a foreign language, community development and youth development. The organization aims to develop fruitful cooperation with Ukrainian educational institutions and organizations that want to learn new training methods and work.

The project volunteers encourage children to actively participate in the classroom and in extracurricular activities for the practical skills of English language and its use as a means of obtaining further education.

During the meeting we discussed the cooperation of Peace Corps with our school, in the context of teaching English as a foreign language, promoting intercultural exchange.

У листопаді представник Корпусу Миру відвідала в нашу школу. Тамара Придатко, провідний спеціаліст Корпусу Миру США / Україна, представила програмні пріоритети Корпусу Миру. Вона повідомила вчителів англійської мови про програму, людей, які б хотіли працювати в школі як добровольці, переваги проекту і проблеми, які можуть з'явитися. Ми обговорили можливості працевлаштування та умови співпраці.

Як зазначила Тамара, Корпус Миру розвиває свою діяльність в Україні у трьох областях: викладання англійської мови як іноземної, розвиток громад та розвиток молоді. Діяльність організації спрямована на розвиток плідного співробітництва з українськими навчальними закладами та організаціями, які хочуть дізнатися про нові методи навчання і роботи.

Волонтери проекту заохочують дітей до активної участі як на уроках, так і у позашкільних заходах до практичних навичок англійської мови та її використання як засобу отримання подальшої освіти.

У ході зустрічі ми обговорили співпрацю Корпусу Миру з нашою школою в контексті викладання англійської мови як іноземної мови, заохочення міжкультурного обміну.

English Tea

Learning about the world, ourselves and something new is necessary not only during the lessons but also outside them. We all love spending free time with entertainment. That's why the learning new and improving known through the games was the purpose of "English Tea". The pupils of the 5-C form met on vacations for tea and sweet, playing English.

The event was built on the principle of the school day with the lessons and breaks. During the "lesson of Literature" we read and translated words, worked with Ukrainian folk tales in English. During the "Math class" we counted and solved the examples. The objective of the "Science lesson" was to write at a certain time as many names of animals as possible, and then read them to students who translated into Ukrainian. Making the  "lesson of Arts", the children showed their vision on one of the themes: "School" or "Nature." During the defenсe of the drawings they called subjects in English. During the "Craft time" we made paper products - origami. The results of our work were boats (the job training), frogs, airplanes and hats.

During breaks after every job we drank tea with cookies. All stages were evaluated with counters. Counting up the collected counters we got the winners. They were Slyvniskyy Roman (I place, 50 points), Lerchuk Lilya (II place, 48 points) and  Motuz Diana (III place, 44 points).

Пізнавати світ, себе і щось нове потрібно не тільки на уроках, але й поза ними. Усі ми любимо проводити вільний час  у розвагах. Саме пізнання новoго та вдосконалення відомого через ігри було метою "Англійського чаювання". Учні 5-В класу зібралися на канікулах за чаєм та солодким столом, граючись англійською мовою.

Захід був побудований за принципом навчального дня з уроками та перервами. На "уроці літератури" ми читали і  перекладали слова, працювали з українською народною казкою на англійській мові. На "уроці математики" ми рахували і розв'язували приклади. Завданням "уроку природознавства" було написати за визначений час якомога більшу кількість назв тварин, а потім зачитати їх, щоб слухачі переклали на українську.  Проводячи "урок малювання", діти показували своє бачення однієї з тем: "Школа" або "Природа". Під час захисту малюнків вони називали предмети англійською мовою. На "уроці праці" ми робили вироби з паперу - оригамі. Результат нашої праці - кораблики (як навчальна робота), жабки, літачки та капелюшки.

Під час перерв після кожної роботи ми пили чай з печивом. Усі етапи роботи оцінювалися фішками. За підсумками зібраних фішок переможцями стали Сливніський Роман (І місце, 50 балів), Лерчук Ліля (ІІ місце, 48 балів) та Мотуз Діана (ІІІ місце, 44 бали).

Live and Learn

Nowadays is difficult to live without the Internet. Among a large number of sites, pages or networks, for students of our school it is also offered the space for improving English. For several years we communicated in blogs. This year we can not only receive the information, but take an active part ourselves in the virtual cabinet "Live and Learn".

Several  categories are given for different groups of participants or just guests. In the forum "News" you can find information about upcoming contests and events. In the "Tasks" we offer to do some actions step by step. For the students of some classes there are links for their homework. Categories "Themes", "Vocabulary" and "Grammar" help in studying. Students can put their messages right here. To have a rest you can go to "Games". For parents it is created the page "Advice".

All the pages are open only to the registered participants. But guests can also enjoy a lot of information.

У наш час досить складно жити без Інтернету. Серед великої кількості сайтів, сторінок чи мереж для учнів нашої школи пропонуються і власний простір для удосконалення англійської мови. Протягом декількох років ми спілкувалися у блогах. Цього року ми можемо не тільки отримати інформацію, але й самі стати активними учасниками віртуального кабінету "Live and Learn".

Для різних груп учасників чи просто гостей подано декілька категорій. У форумі "Новини" можна знайти інформацію про найближчі конкурси та події. На сторінці "Завдання" послідовно пропонуються виконання дій. Для учнів окремих класів є посилання на виконання домашніх завдань. Рубрики "Теми", "Словник" та "Граматика" допоможуть у навчанні. Саме сюди учні можуть давати власні повідомлення. Для відпочинку можна зайти у "Ігри". Окремо для батьків створено сторінку "Поради".

Усі сторінки відкриті тільки для зареєстрованих учасників. Але гості також можуть скористатися великою кількістю інформації.
