Teacher's Day

Teacher's Day is a professional holiday for educators in Ukraine; which is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of October. The traditional way of celebrating is a festive concert. It’s an ideal option for students to reveal their talents, come up with creative numbers once again, and prepare performances.

An equally interesting way of celebrating is Self-Government Day. This is a change in the rules when teachers shift their responsibilities to high school students who can teach in younger grades.

День учителя, — професійне свято працівників освіти України; відзначається щорічно в першу неділю жовтня. Традиційний спосіб святкування — святковий концерт. Ідеальний варіант, аби учні могли розкрити свої таланти, зайвий раз вигадати креативні номери та підготувати виступи.

Не менш цікавий спосіб святкування — День самоврядування. Це зміна правил, коли вчителі перекладають свої обов’язки на старшокласників, які можуть проводити уроки в молодших класах. 

English Olympiad I

This year, everyone who wants can take part in the competitions at the district level, registering on their own. Without coercion and without quotas. Asking for advice or help from the teacher or not. Weighing all the pros and cons on their own.

This is how the first stage of the English Olympiad took place. I am proud that 5 of my participants won prizes - Shcherbiak Maryna (1st place), Kolotailo Solomiia (1st place), Ersteniuk Anastasia (2nd place), Ivankiv Vladyslav (3rd place) and Render Paskal (3rd place). And thanks to everyone who was a little short of points.

Цьогоріч усі бажаючі мають змогу взяти участь у змаганнях зразу районного рівня, самостійно зареєструвавшись. Без примусу та без квот. Спитавши поради чи допомоги у вчителя або й ні. Зваживши самостійно усі за й проти. 

Саме так проходив І етап олімпіади з англійської. Горда тим, що 5 моїх учасників здобули призові місця -  Щерб’як Марина (І місце), Колотайло Соломія (І місце), Ерстенюк Анастасія (ІІ місце), Іванків Владислав (ІІІ місце) та Рендер Паскаль (ІІІ місце). Та дякую всім, кому трішки не вистачило балів.

Languages open hearts and minds

We join in celebrating the European Day of Languages on 26 September. This year’s theme, “Languages open hearts and minds”, highlights the power of languages to unite us through love and intelligence.

This is a great opportunity to show the importance of knowing different languages for getting to know different cultures and different ideas, opening up a wide world of possibilities.

We created a poster illustrating the 25th anniversary motto of the European Day of Languages “Languages open hearts and minds!”. This reflects that learning languages harnesses both the emotions and the brain. As well as potentially boosting brain power and connecting people, learning languages can facilitate the exchange of ideas, emotions, and experiences – strengthening empathy and respect for different ways of life.

Ми приєднуємось до відзначення Європейського дня мов 26 вересня. Цьогорічнаі тема «Мови відкривають серця та розуми» підкреслює силу мов об’єднувати нас через любов та розум.

Це чудова нагода показати важливість знання різних мов для знайомства з різними культурами та різними ідеями,  відкриваючи широкий світ можливостей.

Ми створили постер, що ілюструє девіз 25 річниці Європейського дня мов „Мови - це ключі до людських сердець і думок!”. Цей слоган відображає те, що вивчення мов залучає як емоції, так і мозок. Крім того, що вивчення мов потенційно підвищує мозкову активність і зближує людей, воно може сприяти обміну ідеями, емоціями та досвідом, зміцнюючи емпатію і повагу до різних життєвих ситуацій.

Our Identity

The Linguist Publishing House held a creative competition “Our Identity in Stitches: Celebration of Vyshyvanka Heritage”. This year, it was proposed to celebrate Vyshyvanka Day by creating a thematic project or interviewing embroidery masters.

Vyshyvanka is not just clothing, it is a symbol of the rich cultural heritage of Ukraine, its traditions and history, encoded in each cross and color.

The competition is a great opportunity for:

- students in grades 5–7 — to get acquainted with the embroidery traditions of their region, explore the meaning of ornaments and create bright projects in English;

- students in grades 8–11 and college students — to deepen their knowledge by exploring the history of family embroidery, interviewing masters, learning about the secrets of the craft and the importance of preserving traditions;

- English teachers — to inspire students to be creative, research and practice English through the prism of national culture.

Students of the 5th grade of our lyceum also joined the competition. The presentation "Our Vyshyvanka Tale" introduces the audience to the traditions of embroidery in our region. We have displayed the names of the most common ornaments, images of these ornaments and their meaning and symbolism, and colors that are traditional for embroidery.

Видавництво «Лінгвіст» проводило творчий конкурс «Our Identity in Stitches: Celebration of Vyshyvanka Heritage». Цього року пропонувалося відсвяткувати День Вишиванки, створивши тематичний проєкт або взявши інтерв’ю у майстрів вишивки.

Вишиванка – не просто одяг, це символ багатої культурної спадщини України, її традицій та історії, закодованих у кожному хрестику та кольорі.

Конкурс — це чудова нагода для:

- учнів 5–7 класів — познайомитися з традиціями вишивки свого регіону, дослідити значення орнаментів та створити яскраві проєкти англійською мовою;

- учнів 8–11 класів та студентів коледжів — поглибити знання, дослідивши історію родинних вишиванок, взяти інтерв’ю у майстрів, дізнатися про секрети ремесла та важливість збереження традицій;

- вчителів англійської мови — надихнути учнів на творчість, дослідження та практику англійської крізь призму національної культури.

Учні 5 класу нашого ліцею також долучилися до конкурсу. Презентація  "Our Vyshyvanka Tale" знайомить глядачів з традиціями вишиванки нашого регіону. Ми відобразили назви найпоширеніших орнаментів, зображення цих орнаментів та їх значення і символіку, кольори, які є традиційними для вишиванок.

 Проект тут
